Clinical skincare for
Moles
Find out about moles, and how we can safely and effectively treat them with clinical skincare at Belsanté.
Moles are extremely common skin blemishes - indeed, almost everyone has at least one mole somewhere on their face or body. They vary in both size and colour, and often have deep-rooted hairs growing out of them, thanks to a plentiful supply of blood to the area.
Most moles are benign, and in most cases, GPs and other practitioners will advise that they are best left untreated. Even so, some people do elect to have their mole treated, often because they are unhappy that its presence - typically in a very visible place - is negatively affecting their appearance, and consequently having a destructive impact on their self-confidence, and even their mental health.
However, some moles can be a sign of melanoma (a type of skin cancer). It is therefore essential that you seek professional medical advice from your GP before you seek mole reduction treatment. You can find out more about moles on the NHS website , or by speaking with your GP.
The hairs that grow out of moles can be safely removed without seeking consent from your GP beforehand.
At Belsanté, your safety is always our absolute priority.
How we can treat
your moles
For hair removal from a mole, Advanced Electrolysis treatments at Belsanté are a safe and extremely effective solution.
Using diathermy techniques, any hairs growing out of the mole can be completely eradicated.
With Clinical Electrolysis treatments, we can carefully and safely reduce the appearance of a mole. This process does not require any kind of surgery or biopsy.
Although this is a non-surgical procedure, in order to minimise your discomfort, a topical anaesthetic will be applied to temporarily numb the area during treatment.
For your safety, we cannot carry out mole reduction treatment without a letter of referral from your GP, explicitly stating that it is safe to do so.
How long will the
treatment take?
For hair removal from moles: It is usually possible to remove several hairs within a single 15-minute session. However, in some cases, certain hairs may require more than one session to be completely removed.
For mole reduction treatment: Depending on the size of the mole, it should be possible to complete the reduction treatment in between 20 and 40 minutes. In most cases, a mole can be completely reduced in a single treatment.
How much will it cost
to treat your moles?
For hair removal from a mole, Advanced Electrolysis is priced at £100 per 15-minute treatment session. Longer sessions are not available for this type of treatment.
For mole reduction treatment, Clinical Electrolysis is priced as follows:
30-minute session: £250
60-minute session: £440

Let's get started!
Before we can begin your treatment, we'll first need to book you in for a Clinical Skincare Assessment.
This free consultation is required for all clinical skincare at Belsanté. During this session, your aesthetician will assess the condition of your skin and its unique requirements, and determine how best to safely and effectively reduce your moles and/or remove any hairs growing from them.
She will guide you through the details of your treatment, including any post-treatment aftercare that may be needed. She will also be happy to answer any questions that you may have about your treatment.
